4-4-14 is your combination to super fun for Special Olympics at our BINGO BASH! Remember that date and come to our annual Special Olympics team fundraising event of the year. This is your chance to help our hardworking athletes make it to the regional and state games this summer. Bingo cards are $20 a person and you play until you win. Everyone wins! We always have lots of awesome prizes donated by generous businesses and community members. If you or your business would like to donate (cash, gifts or time) we’d appreciate anything. If you need additional information flyers, let us know and we’ll gladly give you some. You can post it at your work or share it with your neighbors. Don’t forget we also have awesome concessions where you can get a great meal for 3-5 bucks. Think hot dogs, nachos, pizza, cookies and candy, etc. So mark your calendar for 4/4 and bring all your friends and family for this excellent night of games and prizes. We’ll be partying and winning from 4-6pm. Call us with any questions!!!

SPECIAL OLYMPICS ATHLETES: Many of our athletes need updated forms for special Olympics. We are in the process of sending those home to be filled out. If you are participating in games this year, please let us know. We will be starting track & field training soon and will give you those details as we have them. Basketball practice will continue at Edgemont every Monday from 6-7. Call Patty at the center if you have any questions regarding Special Olympics.

EASTER SOCIAL – On April 18th we’re having an Easter social from 1-3. It will be a time for mingling with friends while doing some springtime activities and having refreshments. You’re welcome to wear a hat for our Easter “bonnet” parade.

SNL: We’re having an SNL on April 26th from 3-8pm. Tons of fun for everyone. Movie, games, dinner, crafts, $25 bucks, you can’t beat that. You must RSVP by April 19th if you want to come. The more the merrier!!!!

Be sure your account has a positive balance on it. We will be unable to provide activities and meals to our clients unless they have sufficient funds available. Let us know if you are not receiving a monthly statement either by mail or email.

Please, please, please put your name on your things. Our lost and found is piling up, and we just hate for you to lose your stuff. All lunches (boxes, bags, plastic sacks) must have your name on them. Even if you know what’s yours, someone else might not know what isn’t theirs. Label, label, label!!! Coats, jackets, hats, swim items, electronics, games, etc!

TACCO Run: Our client organization is hosting its second annual 5K on May 10th. Register for this event by May 2nd. It’s $20 per person or $60 per household. Registration by May 2nd guarantees you a commemorative t-shirt. Late registration is available up until 15 minutes before the race, but does not guarantee a t-shirt. The race starts at 9am from The Adventure Center. All proceeds go to The Adventure Center Client Organization and directly help those with special needs. We’ll have a prize drawing and refreshments after the race. A Scentsy fundraising booth will also be there to meet all your Mother’s Day gift giving needs. Call 528-2834 with any questions! So, get outside and start training to make this year your best time yet.

TACCO & SCENTSY: Our client organization is teaming up with Scentsy again for a great fundraiser. We will be sending packets home on April 21st, and they need to be returned by May 9th. (If you don’t want a packet coming home with your client please let us know. Please return all packets, even if you didn’t sell.) Top sellers will receive a gift card! This is a great way to get a wonderful product while helping our clients reach their goal of installing a basketball pad and hoop. We’re getting close! Thank you everyone for all of your continued support!!!

Looking ahead to summer: As the days get warmer, we do more outside. We will be going to the zoo again, in small groups, several times throughout the summer months. The cost is $2 per visit, and we’ll take it out of your account if you have one. Let us know if you should not participate in this. Wearing or bringing walking shoes on any given day is a great idea. We never know when and where our feet will take us. We also have a lot of picnics in the summer and walk to the park. Keep your eye for posting of such activities on next month’s calendar. With only have so many nice months here in Idaho, so we’re going to make the most of it!!!
